Full Description
WWII buildings in the former Naval Recreation area in Invergordon.
The buildings were investigated in 2015 as part of the ARCH project 'Invergordon in World War I'. In a field to the east of the Naval Canteen a number of buildings are shown on a 1945 aerial photograph. Given their position they are likely to be military. The area is now part of the Invergordon Academy campus. <1>
On OS maps dating to 1968, most of the buildings had disappeared apart from the northenmost at NGR 270828 869158, which is labelled 'Poultry Packing Station'.
