Full Description
WWII buildings or shelters south of Shore Street, Invergordon.
The buildings were investigated in 2015 as part of the ARCH project 'Invergordon in World War I'. IAn aerial photograph from 1945 shows six identical structures near the shore to the east of the Central Pier. An aerial photograph from 1947 shows that they had curved roofs covered by turf, suggesting the buildings were semi-underground or were shelters. This area of reclaimed land between the Central and East piers contained a number of nissen huts and other military buildings. <1>
