Full Description

An oval/sub-circular mound on the north side of the Allt an Tùir is visible in SEPA LiDAR data and vertical aerial photography. It measures c.32m x 25m in diameter. It appears to be a feature formed from an earthwork bank with an internal sunken area, and could be an occupation site, a hengi-form monument or given its location beside a watercourse, a large burnt mound. It could also be nothing more than a fortuitous natural feature. There is an area of peat cuttings to its east and south. <1> <2>
