Full Description

A hut circle at Glen Ose (Glen Ullinish), Skye. It was recorded during a walkover survey by Archaeological and Ancient Landscape Survey in 2001 in advance of the proposed Edinbane Wind Farm development.

Site G: A much disturbed hut circle lying on a natural terrace above a small burn. The circle measures 11m in diameter over a wall 2m thick. The wall is faced with slabs and large boulders on both inner and outer faces. A well preserved entrance faces to the east (down-slope) where a foundation of massive boulders prevents the structure slipping down the slope. A small, half circular, and artificially levelled terrace lies immediately outside the entrance. Traces of boulder boundaries can be seen to the north and east of the site. <1> <2>
