Full Description
A small group of shieling huts at Glen Ose (Glen Ullinish), Skye. They were recorded during a walkover survey by Archaeological and Ancient Landscape Survey in 2001 in advance of the proposed Edinbane Wind Farm development.
Site S: Lying below a small south-west facing cliff at the foot of the south-west facing flank of Cruachan Glen Vic Askill are three beautifully preserved stone shielings. The group consists of 1 single cell, 1 double celled example and 1 multi-celled structure. The multi-celled shieling appears to lie within the remains of a hut circle (see MHG63414) similar in style to that recorded as site G in this survey (see MHG). <1> <2>
