Full Description
NC26SW 3 2043 6215.
(NC 2043 6215) A possible cairn, 7m in diameter and 1.5m high. Information from OS, May 1973.
This mound is not a cairn but a natural accumulation of peat, similar to the nearby mound (NC26SW 2). No stone is evident and the mound, generally covered by heather, is topped by moss indicating poor drainage through the mound. Similar mounds occur scattered over a wide area of the surrounding moorland.
Visited by OS (J B) 20 June 1980.
