Full Description
Lodge; circa 1840. Single storey T-plan lodge with symmetrical 3-bay east facade (facing entrance to Castle Leod). Coursed rubble, ashlar dressings. Wide east front with centre advanced gabled porch, hoodmoulded doorway with Cromartie arms above; large finialled skewputts, and similar apex finial; flanking tripartites; rectangular hood-moulded bay window in south gable, again with Cromartie arms above; all gable ends with exaggerated finialled skewputts, and similar apex finials to porch. Unusual glazing of small hexagonal panes, which mostly survives End stack to rear wing; shallow pitched slate roof. Gate piers and gates; pair plain square rusticated gate piers with shallow ashlar pyramidal caps. Pair cast-iron carriage gates with spearhead detailing.
