Full Description
A memorial to the RAF personnel killed during the Second World War flying missions from Skitten Airfield. The memorial also honours the personnel who were killed in Norway in 1942 while taking part in Operation Freshman, a mission "to destroy the vital source of heavy water production at Vemork Norway thus temporarily preventing German atomic research". <1>
