Description
The Cromarty Conservation Area was originally designated as two separate areas by the former Ross and Cromarty County Council. The first, 'Fishertown' was designated sometime between 1972 and 1975 and the larger area, known as 'Burgh of Cromarty' was formally designated with effect from 12/03/1975, with formal publication in the Edinburgh Gazette on 14/03/1975. The two separate, though adjoining, areas were subsequently merged and enlarged to the east to include the area around Garden House and the bowling green.
