Highland Archaeology Conference 2026

Welcome to the new home of HAF. Here you will find details for the upcoming HAF Conference 2026.

Our annual Highland Archaeology conference highlights recent work on the archaeology and heritage of the Highlands from a diverse range of local, regional and national organisations. It is organised by The Highland Council’s Historic Environment Team with the aim of promoting the archaeology of the Highlands to enable communities, professionals and researchers to participate in and benefit from our shared heritage.

The 2026 HAF conference will be held on 10th-11th October at what has become our home venue at the Highland Council Chamber in Inverness. We are excited to announce the 2026 programme.

Forming an important part of the conference, we will also have groups displaying information about their projects and organisations as well as lunchtime poster sessions. Attending will be museums, heritage groups, archaeological units and some national organisations, providing a chance to meet and chat with people involved in Highland heritage. Stalls are now available for booking so if you and/or your organisation would like to showcase your work, project or research, please email HAF@highland.gov.uk for a booking form and we look forward to hearing from you!

Tickets will be on sale soon via Eventbrite only, we regret we are unable to take in-person bookings on the day. Look out for updates and announcements on our Facebook page or check back here soon for when tickets go live!
