Description

The Strathpeffer Conservation Area was designated by the former Ross and Cromarty County Council with effect from 20/12/1972. The designation order was formally published in the Edinburgh Gazette on 29/12/1972. A Conservation Area Character Appraisal (was carried out in 2022-23. This recommended the removal of two small areas and the inclusion of three areas. The opportunity was also taken to make some minor adjustments to take account of improvements and changes in Ordnance Survey mapping. The changes were approved by the Highland Council with effect from 17/08/2023, including the de-designation of the 1972 area and re-designation. A management plan was also included in the approved Conservation Area Appraisal document. The cancellation of the original designation and re-designation order was published in the Edinburgh Gazette and the Ross-shire Journal on 08/12/2023.
