Description

An archaeological watching brief was udertaken by Wordsworh Archaeological Services in 1994 during in advance of and during groundworks for a new office building at Beechwood Park, Raigmore, Inverness. Topsoil had been stripped from the site during a previous building project prior to the statutory change that produced the NPPG5 Archaeology and Planning legislation in 1994 and so no archaeological work had taken place. The site was found to be obscured by building debris from the previous works during an initial visit on May 2nd. Consytruction works commenced on May 24th and periodic visite swre undertaken unril May 26th when the new building foundations were completed. No significant archaeological deposits were recorded and it was recommended that no futher archaeological work would be required on this specific site. <1>
