Description

A walkover survey and DBA were carried out by Wordsworth Archaeological Services in 1996 on the route of a proposed new access road for Dalcross (Inverness) Airport. The line of the route was walked on foot and although most of the woodland alomng the line contained mature trees there was a considerable understorey of vegetation which made observations difficult. All features observed were recorded by means of measured sketch plans, written notes and photographs. Three areas of archaeological interest were noted and all related to agricultural improvements of the late C18. <1>
