EHG1222 - Survey - proposed water treatment works, E of Thurso

NH 8242 5022 to NH 8738 4646 [NGRs incorrect! IS-L 19/01/2016]We were commissioned to carry out a desk-based assessment and walkover survey of the cultural heritage resource that may potentially be affected by the construction of a secondary waste water treatment works and pipeline to the E of the town of Thurso. The assessment, carried out between January and March 2005, identified 37 sites altogether, with many of these close to Thurso harbour. While no archaeological sites were identified in the footprint of the proposed development, sites of archaeological importance are present nearby.
