EHG1264 - Walkover survey - proposed Beinn Tharsuinn Wind Farm cable route, Alness
Technique(s)
Organisation
Scotia Archaeology Ltd
Date
Mar-June 2005
Description
A DBA and walk over survey was conducted by Scotia Archaeology Ltd. In March 2005 in advance of a proposed installation of an underground cable running to the windfarm near Beinn Tharsuinn. Although several sites and monuments had been identified in the vicinity of the proposed cable route, none lay directly in its path and most were located some distance from it. During the walk-over a few features of potential interest were noted close to the cable route although all of them would be easy to avoid during trenching. <1>
A partial re-survey was carried out by Scotia Archaeology in June 2005, following changes to the proposed cable route at its northern end. Nothing of archaeological significance was seen. <2>
