Trial trenching was carried out C Dagg in 2005 on the site of a new house plot near Gillock, Caithness. Six trenches were excavated on a northeast-southwest axis. Each trench was 2m in width and between 23 and 30m in length. A seventh trench, measuring 45m long covered the area of a proposed septic tank soakaway. No archaeological features were exposed and no artefacts were recovered. <1>
