EHG1427 - Watching brief - Dunnet Bay Caravan Site and Footpath Works

Technique(s)

Organisation

Highland Archaeology Services Ltd

Date

May 2006

Description

An archaeological watching brief was carried out by Highland Archaeology Services in 2006 to record the nature and extent of any archaeology revealed during a proposed development of the Caravan Site at Dunnet, Caithness. A further watching brief took place immediately afterwards on adjoining path-works by the Highland Council’s Countryside Ranger Service. Despite the known evidence of Norse settlement in the area, no significant archaeological features were discovered, and no further archaeological work was recommended. <1>
