Technique(s)
Organisation
Highland Archaeology Services Ltd
Date
Nov 2006
Description
A DBA and walkover survey was carried out by Highland Archaeology Services Ltd in November 2006 in advance of a proposed wind farm development near Lairg, Sutherland, Highland. The study area included the turbine sites, the access tracks and the immediate surroundings. Fifteen archaeological sites were noted during survey, 13 of which had been previously recorded, two which were unrecorded and noted during fieldwork. One of these new sites was a cairn which lies close to the proposed access track - it was advised that a watching brief should be carried out during construction of the trackway. It was suggested that no archaeological features would be impacted during construction or would be visually impacted from the development. <1> <2>
