Technique(s)

Organisation

Stuart Farrell

Date

January 2007

Description

An archaeological evaluation was conducted in connection with the proposed construction of a new house. The work comprised a controlled topsoil strip over an area of 216 square metres to a maximum depth of 350mm down to the underlying sand. The work revealed a number of rubble field drains and one tile drain with a further ditch or field drain, probably modern, to the western edge of the site. Most of the site was heavily disturbed by animal burrowing. <1>
