EHG1548 - Trial trenching evaluation - Balvonie Braes, Inverness

Technique(s)

Organisation

Alba Archaeology Ltd

Date

February 2007

Description

An archaeological desk-based assessment and trial trenching evaluation was conducted on the site of a proposed housing development by Alba Archaeology in 2007. The trial trenches covered 5 percent of the site and revealed a large number of modern field drains. One potential feature of archaeological significance was found at the north-west end of the site in the form of a possible posthole. It could not be determined whether this feature was modern or prehistoric. It was recommended that a watching brief be carried out during construction. <1>
