Description
This archaeological assessment looks at three areas in Strath Tirry proposed for afforestation. Ground survey work was undertaken in August 1996, when the vegetation cover of thick tussocky grass was surprisingly high. Whilst the vast majority of upstanding archaeological features should have been visible, it is quite likely that any slight, turg and earth remains were not recorded. Due account should therefore be taken of the possibility of archaeological features appearance as planting operations take place. <1>
The findings were used to inform an Environmental Statement. <2>
