An archaeological watching brief was required by the Highland Council's Archaeology Service on the groundworks associated with the installation of a new water main system within the town of Ardersier. Three stone-built structures were discovered within the narrow excavtion trenches; two large culverts and one short stretch of walling, all of which are believed to date approximately to the 19th century. Fieldwork was conducted between 19th November 1998 and 6th January, 1999. <1>
