Date

Apr-May 1999

Description

A watching brief was carried out by North Highland Archaeology in April-May 1999 prior to proposed development (Phases 1 and 2) at Balloan Fields, Inverness. The work was undertaken during the stripping of topsoil by a machine. A single feature of potential archaeological interest was found and an area measuring 8m x 4m was cleaned by hand. A quarter section of the area was excavated but the feature was found to be a line of stones lying in a natural hollow, probably caused by ploughing. <1>
