EHG3181 - Watching brief, Acharacle Primary School
Technique(s)
Organisation
Highland Heritage
Date
March 2009
Description
A watching brief was undertaken during the digging of three drainage ditches in association with a playing field development at Acharacle Primary School. Work was suspended and specialist advice sought following the discovery of five lengths of waterlogged wood which had apparently been worked. There was no obvious sign of associated archaeological features. The site was attended by Dr Anne Crone of AOC Archaeology Ltd and the wood was uplifted to a safe store for further sampling and recording. <1>
This is a draft report only and the bulk of the watching brief remains to be completed later this year at which point a full report will be submitted. <2>
