Date
August 2009
Description
An archaeological evaluation, in the form of a desk-based assessment and rapid walkover survey, was conducted in connection with a proposed woodland scheme. The object of the evaluation was to identify on the ground known archaeological features, to assess their extent, locate any associated features and place these in an archaeological and historical context in order to evaluate the impact of the scheme on the archaeological resource. Two prehistoric sites were already recorded on the Historic Environment Record and the survey identified seven more sites, mostly early Modern in date or later. <1>
