EHG3215 - Desk-based assessment and walkover survey, Drynie Farm, Dingwall
Technique(s)
Organisation
AOC Archaeology Group
Date
September 2009
Description
A desk-based assessment and walkover survey of a proposed windfarm development site identified 47 archaeological sites within 1km of the development area, seven of which lie within the development area itself. The report concludes that these are mostly of probable post-medieval to 20th-century date and include earth boundary banks, a possible wall base, a clearance cairn and evidence for quarrying. There is potential for hitherto unknown remains to be encountered during development and further work is recommended. <1>
It should be noted that this area is currently the subject of a landscape research project and further survey work has been recommended. <2>
