Technique(s)
Organisation
Headland Archaeology Ltd
Date
Feb 2010
Description
Headland Archaeology was commissioned to monitor the removal of an electricity pole and stripping of a surrounding area of topsoil measuring approximately 2.5m by 2.5m, which had been left in place during the excavation of the area in late 2008/early 2009 (see EHG3027). The electricity pole was located within the area occupied by a large Iron Age roundhouse. The area surrounding the power pole contained several pits identified and partly excavated during the previous phase of work as well as a continuation of a paved area and a previously unrecorded post-setting. <1>
