EHG3366 - Watching brief - Ballachulish Water Treatment Works (Phase 2A)
Technique(s)
Organisation
Jacobs Engineering UK Ltd
Date
August 2010
Description
An archaeological watching brief was carried out by Jacobs Engineering in 2010 during groundbreaking works associated with the proposed upgrading of the Ballachulish Water Treatment Works. A desk based assessment of the proposed works previously undertaken by Jacobs assessed the archaeological potential of the area as good (moderate to high). This assessment, in conjunction with the proximity of the works to Rubha Mor Cairn, a Scheduled Monument
(SM), gave rise to this stage of archaeological work. The works were carried out to record any archaeological remains revealed during the works. One feature of archaeological significance was discovered during the watching brief. <1>
