Description
A measured, theodolite, survey of the earthworks and structures of the abandoned Five Pennies settlement to the north of Cleadale on the Isle of Eigg was undertaken in the summer of 1989 by volunteers under the general direction of P Wade-Martins of the Norfolk Archaeology Service. The limits of many of the structures was difficult to define and it was not possible to establish a relative chronology and determine how much of the area was occupied at any one time, or how denesely. <1>
