Description

An archaeological watching brief was carried out along three sections of the undergrounding of an electricity cable between Achany windfarm and Lairg Muir substation. In Area 1 the excavations for the cable cut across a trackway which had been observed during the prior walkover survey. In Area 3 the work revealed a possible pit infilled with charcoal-rich soil associated with the hut circle settlement of The Cashel. One sample was taken from the feature and retained. <1>
