EHG3519 - Condition survey - Nybster Broch, Canisbay
Technique(s)
Organisation
AOC Archaeology Group
Date
Sep 2004
Description
A condition survey was conducted as part of the preparation of a Conservation Management Plan on behalf of Caithness Archaeological Trust. This was to assess the current state of the monument and identify areas that are at the most risk of being lost and/or have been subject to greater degradation since the survey and excavation of 2004 and 2005. The condition of each of the structures, including the original and repositioned Mervyn's Tower, was assessed and is described in the survey report, which forms part of the overall Conservation Management Plan. <1> <2>
Note: OS Mastermap appears to be incorrect for this area. GIS data as supplied: larger season 2 shape does not match site plan.
