EHG3535 - Watching brief - Passing Place A, Knocknagael

Technique(s)

Organisation

Highland Archaeology Services Ltd

Date

March 2010

Description

A watching brief took place during works to form a passing place at the previous location of the Knocknagael Boar Stone. The drystone dyke running parallel to the road, which had supported the Boar Stone plaque, had already been removed almost in its entirety. The excavation of the formation trench for the passing place was observed and the possible edge of some cobbles was located approximately 25 cm below the present road surface. Several short sections of the faces on both sides of the trench were cleaned and photographed. <1>
