Date

Description

An ongoing archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the construction of towers and temporary haul roads as part of the major development of the electricity substation and associated infrastruture at Knocknagael, Inverness. The first phase consisted of a watching brief during the formation of two junctions of the public road for two temporary haul roads. Tower Junction 2 required the removal of a drystone dyke. The dyke was seen to be composed of a drystone wall facing to the west abutting a turf/soil mound to the east (field side). A ditch ran alongside the dyke on the west side. The only finds recovered were two small fragments of modern glass. <1>
