Date

Description
Archaeological trial trenching was carried out at Craig Wood, Dingwall in advance of construction of affordable houses forming the first phase of development at this site. Eight trenches were excavated, each a minimum of 1.5m wide and 30m long. The total area opened was 360 sq m, representing a 5% sample of the site. The land appears to have been under improved pasture for years and there were no field drains or other indications of agricultural uses. No archaeological artefacts or features were recorded and no further fieldwork is recommended. <1>
