Organisation

Date
July 2012
Description
An archaeological desk-based study and subsequent walk-over survey of two areas to the southwest of Loch Dubh-ghruamach, between West and East Langwell, Rogart in East Sutherland, was undertaken by N Lindsay in 2012. The survey was required to establish the extent of archaeological remains to determine the viability of planting trees. The survey areas comprised approximately 25 hectares of gently undulating hill ground, to the northeast of the public road from Langwell to Achnaluachrach. It is situated approximately 16km to the northwest of the East Sutherland coastal village of Golspie, and is accessed directly from the public road. No archaeological features were discovered, and none had previously been recorded on the Highland Council HER. <1>
