Description

Alba Archaeology (Highland) Ltd undertook an archaeological desktop and walkover survey for a proposed hydro-electric development at Pitmain Estate, Kingussie, in 2011. The walkover survey revealed a few unrecorded archaeological features to the area around Pitmain Lodge to include clearance cairns, a head-dyke, buildings and a possible enclosure, as well as a dam and former powerhouse, and water tank for Pitmain House. A number of recommendations were proposed. <1>
