Description
A rapid walkover survey of the visible archaeological monuments surviving within the boundaries of two areas of proposed new native woodland, both lying to the southwest of Valtos on the Isle of Skye, was carried out by M Wildgoose in 2002. Archaeological sites were recorded on prepared recording sheets and locations established using a hand-held GPS (accurate to 10m). Ten new sites were located, four of these lay with Area A and six within Area B. In addition several short lengths of boulder alignment and turf dyke boundaries were recorded. <1>
