An archaeological watching brief was carried out by C Dagg in 2011 on ground breaking work for a new house at Maikle, Sutherland. The only anthropogenic features noted were plough marks and a deposit of charcoal-blackened stone fragments interpreted as the detritus of land clearance. <1>
