Date

April 2014

Description

A walkover survey on the route of a proposed hydro scheme on part of the Abhainn Ghuilbinn, on Corrour Estate, near Spean Bridge, Lochaber, was undertaken by by J.G. Robertson in 2014. Three archaeological sites were recorded. Two sites, an iron post and wire fence, Site 1, and the site of a foot bridge, Site 2, were associated with late C19 and C20 century land management. Interpretation of Site 3 was hampered by the forestry ploughing over and around the monument. It seemed to be a platform and may even have originated as a prehistoric roundhouse. However, it might simply have been a natural feature or the result of the ploughing. <1>
