Date
July 2013
Description
A DBA and walkover survey was carried out in 2013 by Ross and Cromarty Archaeological Services on behalf of Capita Symonds in advance of the proposed development of a sports hub at Torvean, Inverness. The work was undertaken to assess the nature and extent of any archaeological sites and features likely to be affected within the area outlined for the proposed development and to inform recommendations for the protection and management of any sites identified. The survey identified a previously unrecorded possible burial cairn and Post-Medieval structures and recorded a known settlement and boundary dykes. Mitigation measures were proposed to safeguard the sites during the development. <1> <2>
