EHG4325 - DBA and walkover survey - Dornie Quarry extension, Leanachan Forest, Lochaber
Technique(s)
Organisation
Rathmell Archaeology Ltd
Date
Nov 2008
Description
A DBA and walkover survey was carried out by Rathmell Archaeology Ltd in 2008 in advance of a proposed extension to the Dornie Quarry in Leanachan Forest, Lochaber. One site of cultural heritage importance was identified during the assessment within the proposed location for extension. The extraction was expected to have a direct impact on this site, the loss of which was considered to be of potential significance. The only other site identified within the proposed area had already been destroyed by previous quarrying activites. <1>
The report was used to inform a Planning and Environmental Statement (and was included as Appendix 5), submitted in support of a planning application. <2>
