Date
July 2014
Description
An desk based assessment and a walkover survey were undertaken by Highland Archaeology Services in July 2014 to inform plans for the constuction of a hydro-electric scheme along the Abhainn Rath, Loch Treig, Highland. The proposed intake, penstock route, powerhouse locatiopn and access tracks to be upgraded were walked from west to east. A section of proposed new access track to the south of the Abhainn Rath was inaccessible owing to the level of the river, but the atrea was examined as far as possible both from the northern bank and aerial photographs. The survey revealed that no cultural heritage features should be affected by this project. <1>
Results of the survey were included in an environmental statement submitted with the planning application. <2>
