Date
Aug 2005
Description
A desk based assessment and walkover survey were carried out by Headland Archaeology Ltd in August 2005 in advance of a proposed extension to Kilbraur Wind Farm. Detailed information was sought for all sites within 100m of the construction footprint as well as for those sites adjacent to the Dunrobin Glen road. Twenty-seven sites were identified including hut circles, cultivation, farmsteads, enclosures, clearance cairns, lazy beds, depopulated townships and turf-built enclosures. Detailed survey was recommended to ensure that the access track swept around the outside of the head-dyke along the east side of Scottarie township. It was also recommended that certain sites were marked-out on the ground to avoid accidental damage during construction. <1>
