Description

A watching brief on a development site at Abriachan, as part of a project for a new house with associated access and services, was carried out by S Farrell in 2014. The site lay to the southeast of a group of hut-circles. The whole site was excavated 28.5m NS by 22m EW and a road access 6m wide with a total area of c940m². The services were not monitored as electricity and water were to come from the southeast corner of site, in an area already disturbed by the existing road. A drainage ditch was also excavated to the rear of the site. No archaeological features or deposits were revealed, the area being heavily disturbed as part of a former forestry plantation. No recommendations for further archaeological work were proposed. <1>
