EHG4420 - Walkover survey - proposed Allt a Chonais Hydro Scheme

A desk-based assessment and walkover survey were carried out by Highland Archaeology Services in 2013 ahead of a proposed hydro-electric scheme at Allt a’ Chonais and complemented and updated previous fieldwork by others. The survey identified thirteen features, all but two of which had been identified by the environmental assessment completed in 2006. Changes since made to the development plans to avoid archaeological sites meant that the development was unlikely to affect significant archaeology, although careful micro-siting would be needed around the turbine house. If this was not possible two features should be recorded before removal. <1>
