EHG4438 - Desk based assessment - proposed Lochend Wind Farm
Technique(s)
Organisation
CFA Archaeology Ltd
Date
Mar-July 2013
Description
A desk based assessment was carried out by CFA Archaeology in July 2013 in advance of a proposed wind farm development at Lochend, near Barrock, Caithness. Sixteen sites of cultural heritage interest were identified, all of which were considered to be of local or lesser importance and no significant imapcts were predicted. A moderate effect was predicted on the setting of Earl's Cairn chambered cairn although it was proposed that the development would not unacceptably diminish the ability to understand this site in its wider context. <1>
The report was used to inform an environmental statement. <2>
