EHG4462 - Walkover survey - proposed Balnapolaig Wind Energy Project

A desk based assessment and walkover survey was carried out by D Lynn in July 2011 in advance of a proposed wind energy project at Balnapolaig, near Dornoch. No cultural heritage sites had been previously recorded within the development footprint. No new features were identified during the field survey. It was suggested that there was a low potential of encountering buried sites or depositis during the construction phase. The entire development area was formerly used as forestry land which would have almost certainly have obliterated anything archaeological which might have previously existed. <1>
