EHG4463 - Desk based assessment and walkover survey - Wathegar 2 Wind Farm

Technique(s)

Organisation

Janet Hooper

Date

Jan 2011

Description

A DBA and walkover survey was carried out by J Hooper in January 2011 in advance of a proposed wind farm development scheme at Wathegar, near Bilbster and Wick. Eighteen archaeological features were identified within the development area during the walkover survey. Newly identified sites included: five crofts, three sheepfolds, a steading, clearance heaps, a field boundary and trackways. It was believed that it would be possible to easily avoid causing any direct impacts on the cultural heritage sites as long as the development was laid out in a considerate manner. <1>
