EHG4483 - Geophysical survey - Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm (Application area)
Technique(s)
Organisation
Osiris Projects
Date
April - May 2010
Description
A geophysical survey was carried out by Osiris projects in April and May 2010 in advance of the proposed Beatrice wind farm development. At this time the development area itself was the subject of the survey, for the geophysical survey of the OtFW corridor see EHG4476. Techniques employed included sidescan sonar, magnetometer, sub-bottom profiler and multi-beam bathymetry, followed by the collection of 2D ultra high resolution seismic data. This data was then assessed by Headland Archaeology to identify any sites of archaeological potential. Nine targets of medium archaeological potential were identified in the development area, as well as two high and five medium potential targets within the established 1km buffer zone. <1> <2>
