EHG4489 - Desk based assessment - proposed Moray Offshore Wind Farms (MacColl, Stevenson and Telford)
Technique(s)
Organisation
Headland Archaeology Ltd
Date
Feb 2011
Description
A desk based assessment was carried out by Headland Archaeology prior to February 2011 in advance of a proposed group of wind farms (MacColl, Stevenson and Telford), known as the Moray Offshore Wind Farms, in the Moray Firth. This assessment established that there were no designated wrecks or other legally designated cultural heritage assets within the development area. Six recorded wreck sites were identified, four of which are considered to be 'live' (i.e. they have known locations) and two are 'dead' (i.e. they have not been detected by repeated surveys). <1> <2>
